Better regulation of the buying of gold from the public.
We the undersigned support a change in the law to require retail outlets who buy gold from members of the public to always issue receipts which state the weight and purity (carat value) of the gold purchased, and for every transaction to pay a minimum of 60% of the value of the gold as given by the London Gold Market Fixing Ltd website on the previous working day to when the transaction is made. (At present receipts are often not given, and most people are not aware of how much the gold they sell is actually worth).
