marguerite patten to be made Dame
This lady should not only be honoured for her contribution to the art of catering, as she is presently, but be rewarded for her contribution to the nations health during the second world war AND since. It could be argued that her wartime work directly helped the wars outcome in so much as that the effort to save food at home allowed the troops to be fed at the "front".
It could also be argued that her efforts to help the nation during the war and afterwards has had a greater positive impact than that of some personalities who have already been Knighted..... sportmen/women who are in their forties for example.
Would Dame Marguerite be so wrong?
