Petition Action

Romanian citizen's right to work for UK businesses or public sector

Additional Information

The current limitation are very well presented within the HomeOffice's web site however in a very short form they have no right to work at all unless: if they are students or if an employer is interested in working with a RO citizen and agrees to wait 5+ months for the paperwork

The solutions offered are ineffective; all industries are affected.

What side effects should be expected: immigrants work illegally, undeclared revenue, the criminal rate will be increased, chains of networks specialised in increasing the immigration flow, immigrants with NI will call for Job Seeker allowance and other financial support schemes. Any process which requires HomeOffice to approve a file in order to release a work permit takes at least 5 months! No employer will accept waiting that long for a resource!

Social classes affected: ALL potential full time permanent employees (£6 ph - £50k+ pa) & ALL entrepreneurs
