Reform of the House of Lords

Additional Information

The term Democracy means ''A government by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system."

The House of Lords is a group of 'Lords' who have a responsibility to make laws and check government actions. It is made up of APPOINTED and HEREDITARY members. This does not conform to the term Democracy, which is what this country is supposed to be about.

The reform of the House of Lords should include a full scale public election in which members of the Scientific, military and economical societies are able to stand.
