(In England and Wales) Currently 5 years and 2 years separation is required for non-consensual and consensual divorce respectively.

Why do we expect couples to wait 5 years for non-consensual divorce? This separation period should be changed to 2 years for non-consensual divorce.

In Scotland the separation period for non-consensual and consensual divorce is 1 year and 2 years respectively.
