Repatriation of service personnel is not kept private because RAF Lyneham is closing.
RAF Lyneham is closing in 2012. This means that the spotaneous tributes given to fallen soldiers, as seen in Wootton Bassett, will no longer be held once repatriations are flown into RAF Brize Norton. This petition is to ensure that repatriations are still allowed to be made public and members of the community are still able to pay their respects to fallen soldiers.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
