Supporting the Bomber Command Memorial unveiling and dedication ceremony
HM Queen and twelve members of the Royal Family will be unveiling the new Bomber Command Memorial in Green Park on 28 June.
This is an important event for the nation, the Commonwealth and the supporting allied countries.
There has been a lack of any MoD cash support to assist the Bomber Command Association veterans to host the event.
We have a duty of care to facilitate the needs of 80 to 90 year old widows, veterans and family. Overwhelming publicity has meant an international capacity audience for the event. As a small charity of mainly elderly volunteers, the demands now exceed resources and we have reached a crisis point.
We would like the MoD to reconsider their decision and to financially support the event.
