Petition Action

Prohibit religious circumcision of children and infants.

Additional Information

A child's right to physical integrity must trump freedom of religion and parents' rights.

An infant can't consent to circumcision and as the judge in the 2012 Cologne court case stated: "The child's body is permanently and irreparably changed by the circumcision. This change conflicts with the child's interest of later being able to make his own decision on his religious affiliation."

This petition asks that the government prohibit the circumcision of a child based solely on religious grounds, where there is no medical necessity for the procedure.

Please see: Stop Infant circumcision / male genital mutilation. A childs human rights are denied everytime surgery is performed, that they cannot consent too.
