Criminalise discrimination against Military personnel
In May 2011, the Prime Minister announced that some of the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant (or Military Covenant) were to be incorporated into law; this was a move welcomed by many that support our Armed Forces and recognise the sacrifices they make on a daily basis
However, members of our Armed Forces, as a specific group within our society, do not currently enjoy the same statutory protections against discrimination on the basis and abuse as other specific groups (e.g gender, sexuality, race and religion) and we urge Parliament to extend such statutory protections to our Forces personnel.
