Save Shelley's Legacy to Most Deprived
Save the BCCA Bournemouth
Responsible department: Department for Communities and Local Government
The most deprived community in the SW urge you to help save their historic Community & Arts Centre – the Boscombe Centre for Community and Arts (BCCA) Join us and our Patron, Dame Vivienne Westwood in urging David Cameron to support our community led “Big Society” business plan to aid tourism, our creative and arts industries, increase economic growth and the wellbeing of our residents.
Built in 1878 by Sir Percy F. Shelley (son of the poet and Mary Shelley) and protected by restrictive covenants for education, B’mth Council are intent on ignoring the covenants, in preference for demolishing the BCCA for 11 houses, which will see the community’s “Big Society” hopes for regeneration bulldozed.
