WRITE THE WRONGS IN DSM-5 : N.I.C.E. MUST ISSUE GUIDANCE TO PROFESSIONALS
We the undersigned request that the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence urgently assess the risks to service users, particularly children, from the imminently to be published DSM-5 in the U.K. We ask that they issue timely and appropriate guidance to child and adult professionals as to the restrictions that should be placed on the usage of DSM-5 in the U.K.
Safeguarding Children is our paramount shared 'Duty of Care' and our Codes of Ethics state that we must challenge unacceptable practice, such as overprescribing psychotropic drugs if it puts the health and welfare of our service users at risk of harm.
