Better internet in Cumbria
We want better internet in Cumbria.
Most people in rural Cumbria are lucky if they get over 0.5Mbit/s Download and 0.2Mbit/s Upload which in this day and age is not sufficient to meet the standards that modern technology demands.
Forget playing Online games without connection problems, even opening a simple webpage can stress the connections of most people (especially in rural areas!) How so many people would love to play Youtube videos smoothly at 360p never mind 1080p.
The problem is multiplied by families with more than 1 person using the internet at a time, The internet can just grind to a halt because the speed provided cannot handle it.
The Cumbria County Council were set to receive £17m to improve the internet however we haven't seen any evidence or news of this been used.
We would like confirmation of what we can expect and when we can expect it. But above all we want to see our speeds improving.
Get us up to the standard of the rest of the nation!
