AUDITORS SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE
When UK banks like Standard Chartered pays hundreds of millions in fines,it is shareholders, pensioners (pension funds), taxpayers who pick up the bill.
When the problems were so wide spread how is it that the Auditors did not stop these practices by informing the FSA (bi-lateral meetings), shareholders or qualifying the bank's accounts. These problems have occurred over such a lengthy period.
Why shouldn't the Auditors be fined or pay atleast half the fines?
