Petition Action

end this e-petition gimmick

Additional Information

The British Parliamentary system requires MPs to act as free-thinking representatives of their electors - not delegates.

The e-petition initiative is an anathema to this arrangement; it panders to the lowest common denominators of British society, to Tabloid mean-mindedness, and it will be abused by extremists on all side.

Kill it at birth.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
