Professor John Tullock should be allowed to stay in Great Britain
7/7 victim: 'Briton' who survived the London bombings risks being deported - because he was born in India
70-year-old professor John Tullock may be deported from Britain after his Australian citizenship automatically cancelled his British nationality and right to remain.
Prof Tulloch was born to British parents in India when the now independent nation was still a part of the British Empire. His family moved to Britain when he was only three years old and he was raised here and has lived and worked here most of his life.
Prof Tulloch who can trace his British ancestry back to the 14th century has also been told he may not apply for naturalisation by the Home Office.
’I look back now, on the verge of being thrown out of the UK, at something like 120 years of my family’s service to Britain in India,’ he said in the interview.
