Require 50% of those eligible to vote to be in favour of strike action in order to call a strike

Additional Information

Trade Unions can call for strikes without majority support as long as they gain a majority support at the ballot.

These laws need reforming such that a minimum of 50% of those eligible to vote must be in favour of the strike – i.e. those who cannot be bothered to vote are assumed to be against any strike action.

Rewording of the ballot question to imply that those not voting are in favour of strike action would not be allowed.

Multiple option questions used to determine a number of courses of action would be allowed but those not voting are again assumed to not want any industrial action to take place.
