Newborn screening for SCID (Severe Combined Immunodeficiency) to prevent the death of infants in the first year of life

Additional Information

Please sign this petition for the screening of newborn babies for the rare genetic disease known as SCID (Severe Combined Immunodeficiency) to prevent the death of infants born with compromised immune systems. Screening can be incorporated into the current heel prick test that all newborn babies undergo, at a miminal cost. Treatment through early diagnosis can save 95% of lives. If left undetected, most babies with SCID will die within the first year of life.
