Petition Action

Rates of pay for the young adults

Additional Information

I would like to start this petition for the equality for younger adults (16 -21), The minimum wage for young adults are(01/10/2012):

£4.98 per hour for 18-20 year olds
£3.68 per hour for workers above school leaving age but under 18
£2.65 per hour for apprentices

This is a total farce, the NMW should apply to all not just a certain age group, that is ageisum, which is a legal issue in most work places if you are singled out at certain ages, this should also be applied the the government and tried in court. Young people work to help them better their lives, get a standard of living, and to be equal to their peers, how on earth can the government stamp out child poverty when they are the cause.

Be fare to all, do not alienate your younger future generation, MAKE Britain finacially stable and pay the NMW to all that are on the low end bracket.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
