Petition Action

Stop Mohammed being referred to as "Prophet Mohammed"

Additional Information

For several years the UK government and media, including the BBC, refer to Mohammed as "the Prophet Mohammed" despite the fact that the vast majority of the population do not accept the Koran as a holy book and, consequently,do not view him as a prophet at all. Sign the petition if you would like the government and BBC to refer to him simply as Mohammed.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

In the UK, the press is not subject to state regulation. The Government does not interfere in television programme matters, either on arrangements for scheduling or on content.
