Names of the Nominees of the Bank of England be made public
In light of the ongoing financial crisis, and the lack of transparency regarding BOEN (Bank of England Nominees) we believe it would be in the public interest to have access to the full list of BOEN names. We therefore, propose that the Government overturn the decision of the Minister of State for Trade in exempting BOEN from being named under the disclosure requirements under Section 27(9) of the Companies Act 1976 , because; “it was considered undesirable that the disclosure requirements should apply to certain categories of shareholders”.
