Petition Action

Expand and strengthen human rights law

Additional Information

As part of the creation of a British Bill of Rights derived from, containing and strictly stronger than the ECHR guarantee the Supreme Court the power to declare any law invalid or to reverse the dictate of any public official if found to be in contravention of the basic protections guaranteed by these laws. (This requires safeguards both as to appointments to the Supreme Court and to allow resolution of direct conflict between the House of Commons and the SC).

Maintain as part of this the UK's full obligations under the ECHR and all other relevant international law.
