Save the A + E department at the Princess of Wales hospital, Bridgend
If the planned closure of the A+E department at the P.O.W hospital, Bridgend goes ahead, patients from Bridgend, Porthcawl and surrounding areas will be at risk of not reaching an A+E department in time.
It will also put extra stress on the Ambulance service, with journey times from Bridgend to Cardiff of 35mins/ up to an hour during peak times. Patients in Porthcawl would face a minimum journey of 35 mins to Swansea on a stretch of motorway with a 50mph limit, only 2 lanes and frequent gridlock around Port Talbot.
