Raise the minimum wage to stimulate economy.
Raise the minimum wage by two or three pounds to increase spending in local economies, which will increase employment, worker satisfaction, productivity, and decrease sickness days off, staff turnover. It will increase government revenues through higher VAT and income tax receipts. It will reduce unemployment levels and therefore costs. Less individuals will want to remain long term unemployed, thereby helping to reduce the phenomenon of the underclass. All at no cost to government.
