Government to pay for West Coast failure
With the estimated cost of the tender failure at 40 million, it is suggested that Civil Servants/Government fund this from existing budgets and not from taxpayers.
If this was a company, the Xmas party would be cancelled, salaries would be reduced and any existing expenses would be reduced.
The Prime Minister states "we are all in this together", so these additional costs should not be funded from the tax balance but rather from reductions across the Civil Service/Government budgets.
Perhaps a percentage reduction in salaries..? Downgrade of vehicles..? Reduction of expenses..?
I have no affiliation to any political party but i feel errors of this magnitude should not be funded by the UK tax payer.
