Joint tax filing to support families, re-build community, and reduce in-employment
Our children, communities, and future need adults contributing to their development during the day.
This petition asks our government to give more families the option to choose for one partner to be at home in the community and contributing to it during the day.
By allowing families to chose to be considered as a single unit for tax purposes, taking into account both allowances against combine income.
The extra number that choose to do this will free up jobs, reducing un-employment and welfare costs which will offset the reduction in tax collected.
Stronger communities, with more adults around during the day will result in reduced crime, further offsetting the cost of implementing this proposal.
Not everyone will still be able to afford to choose for one partner to do this, but every little helps!
Building a Big Society needs big sometimes audacious action,, we urge our government to be Bold and go do it.
