Amend section 127 of the Communications Act 2003
We the undersigned believe that Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003 is being used to erode the ancient and cherished rights of free speech and expression in this country.
We believe that freedom of speech means nothing if not giving a forum to that which we find most offensive as well as that with which we agree.
We believe that nobody in this country should be jailed for expressing an opinion, or for making a joke.
We believe that recent high profile cases make a petition of this kind urgently needed, and that the bill in question be re-examined, with a view to ending this policing and criminalising of free expression.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
