Reduce Police Pensions
Police Officers need to accept about serious changes to their pay, pensions & conditions, unlike many public sector workers who plan to strike over attacks on their pensions.
An increase in our pension contributions from 11% to 14.2% of our salaries is perfectly reasonable.
Not only that, but they must work longer before they can claim their pension, which is fair enough and they shouldn't complain about it.
A two-year pay freeze together with cuts to our pay and conditions under the Winsor Review would also be a good idea.
We call on Government to increase the current level of contributions, extend the time needed to work before claiming and to amend the conditions of the Police Pension Scheme.
