separate planning laws for low impact developments
Planning permission legislation should be altered to actively encourage, not discourage, environmentally friendly, low impact dwellings.
Current planning permission allows for unsustainable, environmentally destructive developments such as supermarkets, and yet discourages low impact dwellings from which inhabitants could live a self-sufficient life.
Proposals should be looked at on an individual basis and if the building materials and construction methods are sustainable, then development should be encouraged.
Unsustainable developments should be outlawed.
