Child Benefit Changes - European Human Rghts Act violation through changes in child benefit
Parliment review of changes in child benefit as this is discriminates and breaches the Human Rights Act.
If you have a child/ children and are the sole earner in your household, If you fall foul of the 'above £60,000 threshold' which sees the benefit for your children withdrawn. A couple who earn £49000 each with a joint income of £88000 are unaffected, on these grounds your family are being unfairly discriminated against.
Another example based on European law; a national from another country sitting in the same office as you, earning the same money with the same amount of children would not be expected to pay additional tax against child benefit, therefore there is another case for discrimination.
In my opinion the government are totally belligerent in this matter and are in direct violation of the Human Rights Act.
