Stop the BBC paying George Entwistle £450,000 for resigning
The BBC has agreed to pay £450,000 as part of a deal to an excutive, George Entwistle, as part of a deal, depsite the fact that he resigned. Few other companies, governmnet organisations etc pay people a years wages when they resign, so why should the BBC be so profligate with license payers money.
The petitioners to call on the government to revoke this payment and to ban payments to individuals on the public payroll from recieving gratuitous payments when they resign from that employment. The same that everyone else faces.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
This is a matter for the BBC's Executive Board and the BBC Trust because the BBC is independent of Government.
It is the responsibility of the BBC Trust to ensure that the BBC delivers financial efficiency and hold the Executive to account for its performance in delivering value for money.
