Prevent BBC Director-General from getting an enormous pay-off after his resignation
The Government should act to stop George Entwistle receieving £450,000 pay-off after "resigning" as Director-General of the BBC. He should only receive pay-off in lieu of notice in the event he was sacked.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
This is a matter for the Executive Board of the BBC and the BBC Trust.
It is the responsibility of the BBC Trust to ensure that the BBC delivers financial efficiency and hold the Executive to account for its performance in delivering value for money.
The BBC is independent of Government.
