George Entwistle Pay Off
As BBC licence payers, we object to the sum of nearly half a million pounds being paid to the ex Director General, George Entwistle. 13 weeks of failure in a job cannot warrant a "reward" of this magnitude from public resources. We ask the Government to encourage George Entwistle to consider principles of integrity, fairness and dignity in public life and pay the money back to the BBC or to a charity working with victims of abuse.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The BBC is independent of Government. This is a matter for the Executive Board of the BBC and the BBC Trust.
It is the responsibility of the BBC Trust to ensure that the BBC delivers financial efficiency and hold the Executive to account for its performance in delivering value for money.
