Extradition legal process needs radical change
The time taken for extradition of suspects is far too lengthy. The ongoing appeals process which can take years does not benefit the accused or the prosecuting authority. The cost to the taxpayer for legal fees is egregious, and does not deliver justice as the Public would understand it.
The Government needs to commission an assessment of the options to simplify and shorten the process, with the output to be a set of changes to legislation with a timescale for delivering the same.
