Petition Action

Investigate Tate gallery satellite webcam fraud

Additional Information

The Tate gallery has a website where it claims it is broadcasting real time footage of space to the public while asking for public funding.

http://www2.tate.org.uk/space/webcam.htm

In reality when the software is reverse engineered it does NOT show real time images of space but has eight images hard coded into the source code that it replays over and over.

The website states "The webcam takes a still every 30 seconds which is then sent to the server. Depending on network traffic the webcam image on your browser should update at approximately 30 second intervals".

This statement could NOT be further from the truth.

It is the request of the signed that an official investigation should be undertaken.

The reverse engineered software and source code is at the following location.
