EU negotiations with Mercosur for a trade agreement and a wider-ranging Association Agreement must be terminated.

Additional Information

By suspending Paraguay, for acting in accordance with its own constitution, then using the situation to incorporate Venezuela and starting processes to incorporate Bolivia and Ecuador, Mercosur has demonstrated its illegitimacy.

Given the words of President Mujica of Uruguay. "Sometimes political reasons are more important than charters and rules”, it must be clear that any agreement will not be worth the paper it is written on.

The UK must take the stance that no agreement is possible or practicable and that, if the EU continues, the UK will have no part in any agreement and will not be bound by it.
