hospice funding
Hospices receive around a third of their funding from the government, the rest comes from charitable donations.
The NHS was set up to care for people from cradle to grave, and whilst many aspects of care provided are exemplary and fully funded, hospice care is not one of those.
Hospices provide specialist care for those at the end of their lives, usually elderly people.
This petition is to ask the government to raise the level of funding from around a third to two thirds ahead of the findings of the end of life care pilot study which is not due until 2015.
