Petition Action

Have MP's Pay for Abu Qatada legal aid, and total costs not the taxpaying public.

Additional Information

Ministry of Justice figures show a total of £515,778 has been paid to Qatada in legal aid over the years – dwarfing previous estimates of around £390,000.

On top of that is the Home Office’s own £825,000 legal bill and the £850,000 costs of accommodating Qatada either in prison or in the community.

Around the clock surveillance is also costing the country £100,000 a week.

We, the people of the United Kingdom have had enough of this and previous Governments wasting Tax Payers money through Inept mistakes and not expediting the removal of these terrorists immediately

It is through their mistakes we have to pay. I propose that MP's should pay this money through their own expenses and salary system, in an effort to make them realise the potential of making such inept decisions is theirs and theirs mistakes alone.
