Petition Action

The planned changes to the A level exam should be delayed until 2015

Additional Information

The planned changes, to remove January exams, will have a big impact on many students and should be delayed until 2015, rather than changing the system part way through an existing course of study.

Some (for example those doing maths in year 12 and further maths in year 13) are hugely impacted and may well have chosen different courses of study.

The speed of the changes do not give enough time for sensible piloting or give exam boards enough time to plan properly.

We oppose the timing of the planned changes to the A level examination and believe changes should only be introduced from 2015 when existing students have finished their courses of study.
