Cut MP pay rather than give a rise
Though pay rises are now the responsibility of a third party, MPs are still demanding a 30%+ pay rise.
In a time of austerity, cuts and unemployment this is a bitter pill.
Worse yet, as an MP can claim expenses for travel and the like (let alone subsidised services) their take home pay is larger than most.
No pay rise, extend the pay freeze and introduce a cut of 5%. Then MPs will appreciate those who haven't had a pay rise for the last 5-10 years.
