Save Our Skies - call for a public inquiry into Luton Airport expansion
The Herts Advertiser, through our Save Our Skies campaign, is urging a full public inquiry is held into the planning application proposing the expansion of Luton Airport.
We do not believe the decision should be made by Luton Borough Council, which also owns the airport through London Luton Airport Ltd, as they have a strong vested interest in the application.
We are calling on the Secretary of State for Local Government to place the planning decision in the hands of a body that is both independent and seen to be independent of those who have submitted the application.
The application in question was published on Monday, January 7 2013.
