Preventing abuses vulnerable victims within the Mental Health

Additional Information

The Department of Health defines what constitutes abuse. Prince Ajano is subjected to 99% of the abuses detailed because he is black.
• physical abuse,misuse of medication, restraint,
• sexual abuse, including rape and sexual assault or sexual acts to which the vulnerable adult has not consented;
• psychological abuse, including emotional abuse, deprivation of contact, humiliation, blaming, controlling, intimidation, coercion, harassment, verbal abuse, isolation;
• financial or material abuse, including theft, fraud, exploitation, misappropriation benefits;
• neglect including ignoring medical or physical care needs, failure to provide access to appropriate health, social care the withholding of the necessities of life, such as medication, adequate nutrition and heating; and
• discriminatory abuse, including racist, sexist, that based on a person’s disability.
