For the unemployed to maintain public highways

Additional Information

A petition for the unemployed or job seekers (subject to conditions) to be employed by a new government department to work alongside existing services to maintain and repair the public highways of the United Kingdom on a local and national scale.

This is manual labour and so unsuitable for those with illness, but a test can be employed to ensure their suitability. Those who are able bodied seeking work can be paid extra for involvement in this scheme,

The purpose of this scheme would be to vastly improve the roads and public highways of the UK.
