One to One: Freedom of birth

Additional Information

One to One believes that all women should have the right to choose who looks after them and to choose where to have their baby.

Here in the UK we are privileged to be able to exercise our right to choice but there are still barriers in place: legal barriers that need to be addressed.

In some areas of the UK your commissioner will ensure that you have access to obstetric led care (medical) but they do not ensure that you have access to a home birth. Providers can still decide if they wish to provide their area with a home birth service or give access to a stand alone birth centre. Safe, high quality maternity care from a midwife that you know and trust should not be a 'post code lottery' here in the UK, please sign our petition if you want to exercise your right to CHOICE. Thank you.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.

Please see: For every mother-to-be to have one to one midwifery care and choice of place of birth
