Protect Swillington Farm from HS2

Additional Information

Swillington Farm is on the HS2 route announced 28th January 2013, the route would destroy a valuable wildlfe habitat home to water voles, harvest mice, bittern and locally rare flora. The farm is organic and produces vegetables eggs and meat all sold locally through the farm shop, markets and home delivery service. The vegetables are produced under a CSA scheme in the farms walled garden.. The farm is also used as an educational resource by local schools and theGroundwork charity help maintain the woodlands and train young people in woodland crafts.
Our other business Swillington Park Fishing would also be totally destroyed, the site is used by many local anglers fishing for course fish, who appreciate the peace and quiet offered by the site.
This route would destroy two thriving businesses and a unique wildlife habitat only 5 miles from Leeds we want an alternative route to be used by this scheme.
