Celery provides an unwanted amount of side effects that are potentially dangerous to some humans.,#

Celery oil and celery seeds can cause uterus contraction during pregnancy, which means there is a potential for a miscarriage.

Celery can cause allergic reactions to people who are sensitive to other plants and spices such as wild carrot, mugwort, birch, and dandelion. This is also known as celery-carrot-mugwort-spice syndrome.

Reactions can include itching, swelling, upset stomach and, more severely, anaphylactic shock.

Celery contains compounds known as furanocoumarins, which causes skin to be photosensitive. This can lead to severe sunburn.

These adverse effects paint celery as a potentially dangerous plant.
