Improved Ante and Perinatal Mental Health services in Sheffield for mums to acccess without referral for support
After the recent suicide of a mum with postnatal depression in Sheffield, there has been an increase in mums coming forward for help. There is a clear need for improved services and access to Perinatal Mental Health services in Sheffield which should, after talking to mums who have suffered with the illness be a drop in centre that mums who are ill and their families can access five days a week for support and advice. The illness is a mood disorder and it is very hard to help mums unless you have flexibility and importantly peer support workers which recent research has proven helps promote recovery
