Equal opportunity for all candidates at elections.
Our democracy would be strengthened and our parliament rejuvenated by a better representation of the great diversity of views held by the electors.
It is self-evident that the three major parties cannot adequately represent the views of 62 million people and the result of the 2010 election confirms this - nobody actually won.
At all elections (local or national) the LOCAL newspapers, radio and TV channels must provide strictly equal coverage to all candidates. All venues providing hustings opportunities must give equal opportunity to all candidates.
The production, distribution and display of all canvassing materials (leaflets, posters etc.) must be equal - no candidate should be permitted to gain advantage by reason of funding or other means.
Where candidates or adverts need to appear at different times or dates the assortment must be random.
