There should be a public vote on equal marriage
I propose a public vote open to any resident of the UK over the age of 16, to determine the public majority for a decision on for or against same-sex marriage.
The public have the right to vote on whether they agree or disagree that marriage should be legal for same-sex couples.
This petition is to ask the government to hold a public vote (this petition does not ask the government to agree or disagree with same-sex marriage).
MPs have been allowed to vote as representatives, but how many MPs have actually asked members of their constituencies opinions? Shouldn't the public get a say in the matter?
You can't sign this petition because it is now closed. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
