marine reserves
Marine reserves are absolutely essential to protect and help create a sustainable marine ecosystems in our seas and oceans. Britain, an island nation surrounded by seas should be taking the lead in establishing marine reserves and encouraging the EU to change it's fishing policy in favour of preventing further destruction of our marine ecosystems.
Hugh Fearnley Whitingstall said "Fish - wild creatures that we take from our seas and rivers - are among the most precious of foods. Their numbers are not inexhaustible and we cannot afford to squander them idly. Wasting any food on any kind of scale is a scandal, but wasting precious fish flesh by the thousands of tonnes is outrageous - quite beyond acceptable human behaviour. It needs to stop, and you can help that happen. "
