Refuse the EU demand for the return of £85m.
The EU is demanding Britain return £85 million "for failing to comply with rules on agricultural payments".
Given the fact that the EU's independent auditors have consistently refused to sign off their books, how can we, the taxpayers, have any faith in the validity of this demand? How have they managed to arrive at this figure, or has it simply been pulled out of thin air? The Government should treat this demand with the contempt it deserves.
